Ulanhot Steel readies for new blast furnace operation
Ulanhot Steel in Inner Mongolia has shut down its two old blast furnaces after their last production on 7 August. It is preparing for the operation of a new blast furnace, Kallanish notes.
The closure of the existing 503 cubic metre and 616cum BFs marks a company-wide pause in the ironmaking process. Daily iron output thus has been reduced by around 5,000 tonnes.
