State projects boost Ukrainian 2023 consumption: Vartis
Steel consumption in Ukraine increased over 20% in 2023, exceeding expectations of 15% growth. This was primarily driven by the activation of state projects, such as infrastructure reconstruction, bridge restoration, rebuilding of destroyed homes, and energy shelter construction, according to Sergey Kovalenko, commercial director of Vartis, a Ukrainian steel stockist.
