Ukraine steel consumption falls, exports surge
Ukraine reduced consumption of steel products in January-May, including rolled and semi-finished products, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
The volume amounted to 1.36 million tonnes, down by 36% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Five-month steel imports were around 472,900t, up 6.7% on-year, thus accounting for 34.7% of domestic rolled steel consumption.
