Ukraine’s iron exports decrease to EU, scrap increases
Ukraine has reduced pig iron shipments to the EU amid the ongoing Russian invasion and blockade of seaports, Kallanish notes.
In January-April, the EU reduced imports of pig iron from Ukraine by 28% on-year to 98,720 tonnes, according to Eurostat data. In monetary terms, intake decreased by 35.4% to €45.9 million ($50m).
