Ukraine’s 2022 steel output falls significantly amid war
Ukrainian steel companies reduced production in 2022 due to the Russian-Ukrainian war, unfavourable global market conditions and logistical problems, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
12-month crude steel output amounted to 6.26 million tonnes, down by 70.7% on-year, Kallanish notes. Output of pig iron decreased by 69.8% to 6.39mt and rolled products were down 72% to 5.35mt.
