Ukraine's 2020 steel output declines, pig iron increases
Ukraine reduced output of crude steel in 2020, show national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom preliminary data.
The country's ironmakers produced 20.36 million tonnes of pig iron, up by 1.5% on-year. Pig iron output was supported by buoyant demand from China, and is likely to increase more as traditional Western markets such as the US and Europe return to the market (see Kallanish passim).
