Ukraine steel consumption increases in first half
Ukraine ramped up consumption of steel products in January-June, including rolled and semi-finished products, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
The volume amounted to 1.74 million tonnes, up by 7.7% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Six-month steel imports were around 592,400t, up 3.4% on-year, thus accounting for 34% of domestic rolled steel consumption.
