UK merger watchdog investigates Sims' scrap acquisition
Australian-headquartered Sims Metal Management is having its recent UK acquisition investigated by the UK government’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), according to an announcement by the latter.
The deal to acquire the UK-based Morley Waste Traders and Lord and Midgley (Morley) businesses had been announced around 2 months ago (see Kallanish 9 March). The CMA investigation was launched on 4 May.
