UK government acquires Sheffield Forgemasters, lines up investment
The UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) is acquiring Sheffield Forgemasters for £2.56 million ($3.5m) to secure the firm’s critical role as supplier to the next generation of UK Defence programmes. This will entail investment of up to £400m in the long-standing steel forger over the next ten years, Kallanish notes.
