Uddeholm commissions modernised fume treatment system
Swedish speciality steel maker Uddeholm has completed the second modernisation phase of the fumes treatment system at the electric arc furnace.
As Kallanish reported earlier, a new, more efficient filter system replacing the canopy hood of the EAF with a frustum hood supplied by SMS was installed in late 2016. In phase 2, the primary gas line for direct exhausting of the hot fumes from the 60-tonne EAF was renewed.
