UAE's Q1 ferrous imports decline, China top supplier
United Arab Emirates imports under HS chapter 72 – comprising iron, scrap, ferroalloys, semi-finished products, flat and long products, wire and forged bars – fell -15% on-year in the first quarter to 1.42 million tonnes. This is according to UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority data monitored by Kallanish.
The largest source of these imports was China with 198,632 tonnes, despite being down -20% on-year, followed closely by Oman…
