UAE steel import decline accelerates
United Arab Emirates imports of ferrous products under HS chapter 72 fell -9% on-year in January-September 2020 to 4.72 million tonnes, according to newly-published data from the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority monitored by Kallanish.
This means imports declined faster in the third quarter after they had fallen -4% on-year in the first half of 2020.
The largest supplier in the nine months was India with 1.13mt, followed by China with 813…
