UAE posts multi-year consumption high, Saudi slumps again
United Arab Emirates apparent finished steel use (ASU) inched up higher on-year in 2017 after recording in 2016 the highest level since its all-time peak of 12 million tonnes in 2008. UAE’s ASU grew by 1% in 2017 to 7.93 million tonnes according to newly-published worldsteel data.
