UAE imports slump, re-exports surge in late 2018
United Arab Emirates imports of ferrous products under HS chapter 72 fell -2% on-year in 2018 to 7.37 million tonnes, reversing the 38% surge seen after the nine months through September. This is according to newly-published data from the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority monitored by Kallanish.
Unlike in previous versions of its foreign trade report, the authority no longer provides the countries of origin or destinations.
