UAE steel imports accelerate in Q2
United Arab Emirates imports under HS chapter 72 – comprising iron, scrap, ferroalloys, semi-finished products, flat and long products, wire and forged bars – reached 3.75 million tonnes in the first half of 2016. This is according to UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority data monitored by Kallanish.
On an annualised for full-year 2016 basis these imports would reach 7.49mt, a considerable increase on the 6.54mt recorded in 2015. …
