UAE ferrous imports drop, re-exports surge
United Arab Emirates imports of ferrous products under HS chapter 72 fell -22% on-year in the first quarter of 2019 to 1.59 million tonnes, according to newly-published data from the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority monitored by Kallanish.
This comes after imports in full-year 2018 dropped -2% on-year to 7.37mt (see Kallanish passim).
