Typhoon hits Chinese steel futures
Since typhoon "Meihua" landed in eastern China, market activities in parts of the country were suspended and spot demand hibernated.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded January 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 53/tonne ($7.61/t) lower than Tuesday at CNY 3,741/t ($547/t), while the same contract for HRC lost CNY 64/t on-day to CNY 3,800/t.
