Two Vietnamese pipemakers lose zero import duty status
Vietnam’s Haiphong Hongyuan Machinery and Hoa Phat Steel Pipe have had lost their ‘de minimis’ status for imports to the USA of their circular welded carbon steel line pipe. This happens after margins were revised by the US Department of Commerce in July. The move means they will now be charged duties, leaving only Vietnam’s SeAh Steel VINA with a 0% rate, Kallanish notes.
