Turkish wire rod exports surge in July
Turkish wire rod exports surged 79% on-year in July to 186,067 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average price, however, was down to $510/tonne versus $588/t in July 2018.
Exports of round rod below 14mm diameter comprised 93,269t, up 17%. Morocco took in 16,400t compared to zero a year earlier, while Israel increased intake 188% to 15,540t. Next came Ethiopia and Egypt with 8,193t and 8,1…
