Improved utilisation, costlier scrap support Turkish rod prices
Turkish wire rod producers have increased their export quotes sharply as a result of higher demand and longer lead times.
Turkish mills’ export quotes for mesh-quality wire rod, which stood at $465-475/tonne fob Turkey a week ago, have increased mostly to $480-490/t fob. However, offers at $500/t fob are also available from some producers which are fully booked for longer.
