Turkish wire rod export prices fall dramatically
Turkish mills were forced to drop their wire rod quotes last week as a result of absent demand and decreasing scrap prices, breaking their resistance from the week before.
Mesh-quality wire rod prices, which stood at $455-460/tonne fob the previous week, fell to $430-440/t fob Turkey last week. However, the lack of demand has forced mills to be more flexible with pricing.
