Turkey needs more scrap generation, feedstock alternatives: Yayan
The world’s largest scrap importer, Turkey, is negatively affected by the rising trend of attempts to restrict scrap exports in various global markets, says Veysel Yayan, general secretary of the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
Yayan says Russia has increased scrap export duties and plans to ban exports completely if, as is expected, the higher duties prove to be ineffective, Yayan observes.
