Turkish steel exports inch up in seven months
Turkish steel exports grew 2.4% on-year in the seven months through 2018 to 11.1 million tonnes, while their value rose 26.7% to $8.4 billion, Kallanish learns from the Turkish Steel Exporters Association (CIB).
According to CIB chairman Adnan Aslan, the increase in value of exports was much faster than tonnage due to the rise in prices of raw materials, such as a scrap and iron ore, as well as steel feedstock prices.
