Turkish ship scrap prices increase, reflecting costlier mports
Prices of shipbreaking scrap in Turkey have increased by some $20/tonne over the past ten days as the increasing trend in import scrap prices continues, Kallanish notes.
Ship scrap prices are now quoted at $234-235/t delivered, a source at the Ship Recyclers' Association of Turkey (Gemisander) says. One of the mills that buy ship scrap in the region is asking for $234/t, while the other three buyers' purchasing prices are at $235/t.
