Turkish scrap softens further, rebar in dire straits

Turkish scrap import prices have weakened again this week with a solitary booking reported from the UK as mills held back from purchases on account of very weak rebar demand, market participants tell Kallanish. The UK-origin scrap booking was for 5,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20 at $316/tonne cfr Turkey and 5,000t of shredded at $321/t.
