Turkish scrap skyrockets on fresh bookings
Imported scrap prices in Turkey continue to rise sharply on fresh bookings heard on Thursday. Amid tight supply and Turkey’s need for February-shipment cargoes, scrap values are recording sharp increases, Kallanish notes.
Following the EU-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 booking at $409/tonne cfr Turkey a day earlier, another European supplier sold HMS 1&2 75:25 at $412.5/t cfr, for February shipment.
