Turkish scrap surges again
Scrap prices have seen their third sharp rise in a week. Premium HMS 1&2 80:20, which stood at $432/tonne cfr Turkey last week, has increased to $480/t cfr in fresh bookings.
A Turkish mill in the west has concluded numerous imported scrap bookings. While EU-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 was transacted at $463/t cfr, Baltic-origin deals for the same grade were concluded at $470-479/t cfr, Kallanish notes.
