Turkish scrap remains flat, buyers resist higher offers
Turkish imported scrap prices remained flat on Friday despite a UK-origin deal heard in the market at a higher price.
A western Turkish mill is heard to have bought UK-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 at $384/tonne cfr Turkey on Wednesday. Although this points to a rise in prices, market players think this cargo does not represent Friday’s reference price as it is a prompt-shipment cargo and was concluded earlier in the week.
