Turkish scrap remains firm, small rebar tonnages sold
Turkish scrap import bookings accelerated last week, with six reported, of which four were from the US at marginally lower prices on-week. Turkish mills secured some small-tonnage rebar sales to countries in Europe, but the narrow scrap-rebar spread continued to pressure profitability, market sources told Kallanish.
The latest US-origin deal was reported at an unspecified tonnage of HMS 1&2 80:20 at $338/tonne cfr Turkey, shredded at $343/t and bonus at $348…
