Turkish scrap seen rising further, market expresses concern
Turkish steelmakers are digesting higher scrap prices following their weekend surge. Only one import deal has been heard concluded so far this week, Kallanish notes.
The Baltic-origin cargo was booked for 14,000 tonnes of HMS 80:20 at $370/tonne cfr Turkey.
Following the two weekend Baltic deals at $370/t and $375/t respectively, Turkish steelmakers increased all steel product prices by at least $10/t on Monday.
