Turkish scrap remains firm on fresh US booking
Turkish mills’ scrap demand remained weak on Tuesday, although European suppliers were hoping to see demand recover after their return from Easter holidays.
A single booking was confirmed on Tuesday. A southern Turkish mill bought 15,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20 at $439/tonne and 15,000t of shredded at $459/t cfr Turkey for May shipment from the US. This follows another US-origin cargo booked at the end of last week.
