Turkish scrap prices enter downtrend on demand dearth
Turkish scrap prices are foreseen by many to fall after Turkish mills retreated from the scrap import market last Thursday and have since remained silent.
HMS 1&2 80:20 reached $304.75/tonne cfr Turkey in a booking concluded from Canada last week. However, following Turkey’s withdrawal from the market, a St. Petersburg-origin supplier subsequently sold the same grade at $300/t cfr (see Kallanish passim).
