Turkish scrap prices continue to rise
Turkish steelmakers have further increased their domestic scrap buying prices this week due to the non-stop increases seen in imported scrap prices.
Imported scrap prices have exceeded the $500/tonne cfr threshold in a fresh deal (see separate Kallanish story). Although HMS 1&2 80:20 appears at $499/t cfr in this booking, the unusual $20/t premium over shredded indicates that premium HMS 1&2 80:20 is actually valued at above $500/t cfr.
