Turkish scrap market slumps with fresh US deal

Following a long period of waiting, a Turkish mill has finally confirmed a deal from a US supplier. The cargo that consists 35,000 tonnes of HMS 95:5 is confirmed by a Turkish steelmaker at $295/tonne cfr, for February shipment, Kallanish notes. The imported scrap price is seeing a dramatic decrease with this booking. US-origin HMS ½ 80:20 price can be considered at slightly below $290/t cfr based upon this deal.
