Turkish scrap market seeks direction
Turkey’s scrap market remains silent as mills are cautious about concluding scrap purchases amid production halts arising from electricity outages, as well as high production costs and weak rebar sales.
Although there are a few mills inquiring about scrap, no booking is heard so far this week. Deep-sea suppliers are insisting on higher prices, but Turkish mills are aiming to buy scrap at lower levels due to their production costs already being too high.
