Turkish scrap remains quiet, domestic rebar demand lacking
Turkish mills have had a quiet start to the week for imported scrap purchases, despite still missing May-shipment cargoes. This is mostly due to the absence of domestic rebar demand, which typically rebounds at this time of year.
Suppliers, mostly from the Baltic and the EU, are seen waiting for Turkish demand to resume, while US suppliers are mostly out of the market.
