Turkish scrap market starts week with a whimper
Following Turkey’s Victory Day holiday on Monday, the Turkish scrap market has had a quiet start to the week. Both suppliers and buyers remain silent while trying to understand the market.
Suppliers are awaiting a recovery in Turkey’s scrap demand, which is expected soon as Turkey’s October-shipment scrap purchases are yet to get going. Mills, on the other hand, seem willing to wait for a clearer picture of rebar demand before buying scrap.
