Turkish scrap market maintains silence
Turkish mills remain out of the scrap import market while gauging availability of the material.
Although there were rumours on Tuesday of an ex-UK HMS 80:20 scrap booking at $290/tonne cfr concluded last weekend, this is yet to be confirmed. A Turkish mill was inquiring about HMS 80:20 scrap at $290/t levels last week.
US suppliers are quoting HMS 80:20 at $300/t cfr, while European suppliers are mostly seeking $295/t cfr.
