Turkish scrap activity dies down before expected rebound
Most Turkish mills halted scrap purchases throughout last week, following intense scrap bookings in the previous two weeks.
Some US suppliers were in the market, offering HMS 1&2 80:20 at $460-465/tonne cfr Turkey. A European supplier is heard to have offered HMS 1&2 80:20 at close to $460/t cfr, while a Baltic-origin supplier offered the same grade at around $465/t cfr.
