Turkish scrap market ends week with poor activity
Import activity in the Turkish scrap market remained almost absent last week as Turkish steel mills failed to secure desired prices from scrap suppliers.
Turkish mills are being forced to decrease rebar quotes amid weak demand and further squeeze in margins, and are therefore seen continuing to exert pressure on prices. Although scrap values are already on a downward trend, they are yet to reach Turkish mills’ expectations.
