Turkish scrap jumps again, wire rod stable
Turkish imported scrap prices recorded another sharp increase on Friday on a deal concluded from the US, Kallanish notes.
A long steel mill in western Turkey has bought a US-origin cargo that consists of HMS 1&2 80:20, shredded and bonus grade at $443/tonne, $458/t and $458/t cfr Turkey respectively, for November shipment.
The mill has raised its domestic rebar price, following this booking, and refuses to sell at below $670/t ex-works.
