Turkish scrap imports continue to fall in April

Turkish scrap imports fell for the third consecutive month in April, by 12.9% on-year to 2.16 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Over 85%, or 1.84mt, of the April imports were obsolete scrap. The average price of this scrap was $547/tonne versus $436/t in April 2021.
