Turkish scrap imports rise in January
Turkish scrap imports increased further in January by 37.1% year-on-year to 1.69 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Over 99%, or 1.67mt, of the January imports were obsolete scrap. The USA was the main supplier with 315,443t, up 47% on-year, but down by -34% compared to December 2019. This was followed by the Netherlands which increased supply by 26.5% to 236,755t, and Belgium which more than doubled sup…
