Turkish scrap imports rise in January

Turkish scrap imports increased further in January by 37.1% year-on-year to 1.69 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Over 99%, or 1.67mt, of the January imports were obsolete scrap. The USA was the main supplier with 315,443t, up 47% on-year, but down by -34% compared to December 2019.
