Turkey’s August scrap imports decrease as China-origin billet supplies surge
Turkish scrap imports continued to decline in August as billet imports grew further, driven by a jump in Chinese supplies. Scrap imports dropped -33.8% year-on-year to 1.02 million tonnes and average overall price decreased by $114/t to $261/t cfr Turkey, Kallanish learns from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
