Turkish scrap, billet imports slump in April
Turkish scrap imports decreased in April, by 14.6% year-on-year to 1.72 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Over 99%, or 1.70mt, of the April imports were obsolete scrap. The USA was the main supplier at 361,581t, up 14% on-year, followed by the Netherlands with 295,673t, up 0.6% on-year, and the UK with 257,334t, down from 339,928t a year ago.
