Increased EAF output hikes Turkey's 2017 scrap imports
Turkey's scrap imports increased 18.4% on-year in 2017 to 20.98 million tonnes on the back of increased supply from Europe Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The overall average value/tonne of these imports rose to $293/t from 224/t a year ago. The scrap/rebar value spread widened to $160/t last year from $154/t in 2016.
