Turkish scrap imports continue to decline in February
Turkish scrap imports continued their downward trend in February. They fell 35.8% on-year to 1.231 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were also down from 1.364mt in January 2023.
Over 99%, or 1.22mt, of the February imports were obsolete scrap. The average price of this scrap was $365/tonne, down from $477/t in February 2022 and $373/t in January 2023.
