Turkish scrap imports surge on-year in October
Turkey's scrap imports soared further in October, after the growth registered in September, again driven by increased intake from the US, Europe and Russia, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
October's import volume stood at 2.15 million tonnes, up 73.7% on-year and 6.4% over September. The overall average value/tonne of these imports rose to $331/tonne from $229/t a year ago.
