Turkish scrap falls sharply on fresh US deals
Turkish scrap prices, which have been on a downward trend since last week, have declined sharply on fresh deals from the US.
A long steel mill in northern Turkey has bought two cargoes from the US. With, HMS 1&2 80:20 appearing at $485/tonne cfr and shredded at $500/t cfr in both deals, scrap prices have fallen from $496-498/t cfr last week to $485/t cfr for HMS 1&2 80:20.
