Turkish scrap explodes on UK-origin deal: sources
Turkish scrap import prices have exploded after a widely-reported booking from the UK took values up $15/tonne on-week, Kallanish notes.
The 38,000-tonne UK-origin cargo made up of 5,000-10,000t shredded at $323/t cfr and the balance being HMS 1&2 80:20 at $318/t cfr Turkey was confirmed by neither the buyer nor seller. However, the supplier also refused to deny the deal. The cargo will be shipped at the latest by 31 December.
